Pathport Manager 5.1 includes all the features of the previous release and adds several new features:

E1.20 Remote Device Management Console:  Manage your RDM devices, including the ability to set DMX start addresses and operating modes, and to retrieve sensor information and manufacturer-specific properties.   Anyone with a Pathport now gets access to this powerful talk-back standard - for free.

IP Address Auto-correction:  A common problem is determining the IP addresses and subnet masks of Pathport nodes in an unfamiliar or undocumented installation.  Now Pathport Manager can detect mismatches between the nodes and the configuration computer and automatically fix them on command.

Support for Pathport VIA 10+1 Gigabit Ethernet Switch, the next level of integration for lighting systems.

Recognizes Strand Palette and ShowCAD Artist consoles.

Extended support for Strand and Entertainment Technology raceway dimmers and other Philips products utilizing embedded Pathport technology.

Support for up to 256 universes (sACN and ArtNet) or 128 (Pathport and Shownet).

"Offline" mode loads all properties from a showfile, including read-only values.

Improvements to Copy/Clone Node process.

Includes new firmware versions for all Pathport nodes, providing support for final draft and ANSI release versions of streaming ACN, and new toggled support for Art-Net universe 0:0.

Release Notes:

PM5.1.2:  Maintenance release, including better NFP support and a bug fix for the IP auto-corrector.

PM5.1.1:  Bug causing loss of custom universe names is fixed.  Support for Pathport Quattro and MDG TheOne added.  

Windows 7:  Make sure a static IPv4 address has been set, and run Pathport Manager natively, rather than through an emulator.

We have also encountered issues on Win7, where Windows sees the network as Unidentified, classifies it as Public, and refuses access to the ports Java requires for PM5 to run correctly.  The solution to make sure Java SE6 has permissions on a Public network.  Try these steps and hopefully they will make a difference.

1. Open start menu; in search box, type "windows firewall". Open "Windows Firewall" (do not select "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security").
2. Click "Allow a program through Windows Firewall".
3. Click "Change Settings" and satisfy the authentication dialog if it appears.
4. Scroll down to "Java(tm) Platform SE binary". Check its checkbox, and the checkboxes for the 3 network types: domain, home/work, public.
5. Restart PM5.

These steps are in addition to ensuring PM5 has the correct firewall permissions.

Macintosh users:  To run Pathport Manager 5.1, you must be using OS 10.5 (or higher) on a 64-bit Intel Core 2 Duo machine.  Your Java Preference for applications must have Java SE6 (64-bit) at the top of the list.  You may need to upgrade your OS to obtain this version of Java.
