GENERAL Strand Lighting equipment using AMX communication may be found with two different types of connectors, depending on the vintage of the equipment in question. Four pin XLR type connectors are newer, and meet the USITT standard for AMX192 connections. Earlier equipment has TA4/TY4 series Mini-Switchcraft connectors. Adapters are required to use TA4/TY4 equipped devices with newer AMX192 devices. When wiring adapters, you should be aware that the two connectors' pinouts are different.
