Pathway’s eDIN Family Adds RDM Support

For Immediate Release

Pathway Connectivity has begun shipping the latest addition to the eDIN module line up: the eDIN RDM Splitter.  More than a mere DMX512 opto-splitter, the eDIN RDM Splitter supports the bi-directional communication necessary for E1.20 Remote Device Management in installations that require a star wiring layout.

This one-in/ four-out splitter automatically reverses direction to pass RDM packets back to the controller.  Full opto-isolation is provided on all ports to block common voltage and ground loop faults and their potentially harmful consequences.  Self-resetting poly-switches are used instead of fuses; remove the fault and the port recovers.

RDM can also be blocked to resolve issues with legacy equipment.  The eDIN RDM Splitter is always RDM discoverable and configurable, even if RDM blocking is enabled.

The DMX Thru connector fully supports RDM.  Data can be daisy-chained through up to four modules in RDM mode, or any number when used for DMX alone.  Power can also be daisy-chained between cards.

The eDIN RDM Splitter is available on its own, as well as in complete 4-way, 8-way and 12-way installation repeaters.  Or mix-and-match with our other eDIN cards to create a customized solution.   And like any other eDIN module, when the eDIN RDM Splitter is factory-installed in a Pathway enclosure, the assembly receives a prominent ETL-listing sticker.
