Pathport^® Rooms is a room combine system for control consoles. Convention centers, meeting rooms and ballrooms often have the ability to be reconfigured into several smaller rooms when required. While the architectural control system can manage the assignment of room lighting controls in these special facilities, portable DMX control console assignment can be a real problem. How can you be sure that a console connected in one room does not ‘spill over’ and control the lights in the next?

The only reliable way is to use Pathport Rooms, a DMX Management System for Divisible Rooms. Pathport Rooms makes sure that consoles control only the dimmers and lights in the rooms you specify. The room configuration is changed by contact closure input or a direct connection from the architectural control systm. Pathport nodes provide DMX input and output access points in each room.

When the room configuration changes, either by joining rooms or splitting them up, Pathport Rooms reassigns the consoles’ DMX channels corresponding to the current configuration. It doesn’t matter if it’s one room by itself or several rooms joined together, Pathport Rooms will make sure that the right rooms are controlled by the right consoles, with no accidental ‘spillovers’ .
